How to make dabeli at home | Dabeli recipe |

Dabeli : 


Dabeli also known as double roti is very famous street food in india. It is made by mixing boiled potatoes with masala, putting the masala in between double roti. It is served with chutney.

Ingredients for dabeli masala : 


  • 1 tsp coriander seeds
  • 1/2 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1/2 inch cinmamon
  • 1 bay leaf
  • 1 tsp sesame seed
  • 3 dried red chilli
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp aamchur
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • salt to taste

Ingredients for aloo masala :


  • 2 tsp tamarind chutney
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 3 potato boiled and mashed
  • salt to taste
  • 1 tbsp grated coconut
  • 1 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tbsp sev
  • 2 tbsp spiced peanut




Method of preparation :


1. In a pan add 1 tsp coriander seeds, 1/2  tsp cumin, 1 bay leaf, 1/2 tsp pepper, a inch cinnamon, 2 tbsp dry coconut and 3 dried red chilli.


2. Dry roast on low flame.


3. Cool completely and keep aside.


4. Add 1 tsp turmeric, 1 tsp aamchur, 1 tsp sugar and 1 tsp salt.


5. Blend to a fine powder and keep aside.


Now prepare aloo masala

6. In a large kadai heat 2 tbsp oil and add 3 tsp of prepared dabeli masala , aong with 2 tbsp tamarnd chutney and 1 Cup water.


7. Mix well making sure there are no lumps. pour the masala mixture into the hot oil.


8. Cook for 2 minutes.


9. Further, add 3 potato, salt to taste and mix well.


10. Mash and mix making sure everything are well combined.


11. Transfer the mixture into a bowl.


12. Top with 1 tbsp coconut, 1 tbsp coriander, 2 tbsp sev, 2 tbsp pomegranate and 2 tbsp spiced peanut.


Now will assemble dabeli 

1. firstly, slit the pav in the centre and spread 1 tsp green chutney on one side of pav.


2. Stuff prepared all dabeli mixture into the pav.


3. Also stuff 1 tsp of onion and aloo dabeli mixture.


4. Now toast the pav in butter making sure both sides turn slightly golden brown.


5. Roll the dabeli into sev and serve hot.
