Chicken Manchurian :
Ingredients :
Chicken (Boneless)
| 400 gms |
Capsicum
| 1 medium sized |
Egg | 1 |
Green chillies
| 3-4 |
Cornstarch
| 6 tbsps |
Spring onion greens | 2 |
Salt
| to taste |
Oil | 4 tbsps |
Soy sauce | 2 tbsps |
Ajinomoto (optional) | 1/2 tsp |
Onion | 1 medium sized |
Chicken stock | 2 cups |
Garlic
| 8-10 cloves |
Vinegar | 2 tbsps |
Ginger | 2 inch pie |
Method of preparation :
- Clean, Wash and cut the boneless chicken into finger sized pieces. Mix egg, four tablespoon of cornstarch, salt to taste, 1 tablespoon soy sauce into chicken pieces. Leave for half an hour.
- Peel, Wash and slice onion. Peel and chop the garlic and ginger. Wash, halve and deseed capsicum into strips.
- Wash, remove stems and slice green chillies. Wash and finely chop spring onion green. Blend remaining cornstarch in one cup of water.
- Heat sufficient oil in a pan and deeply fry marinated for 2 to 3 minutes. Remove and drain onto a kitchen towel.
- Heat four tablespoon oil in a pan. add chopped ginger and garlic and stir fry briefly.
- Add onion, green chillies and continue to stir fry for a minute. Stir in remaining soy sauce, ajinomoto(optional), chicken stock and salt to taste. Bring to boil.
- Stir in blended cornstarch and cook for a minute until the sauce to thicken. Stir continuously.
- Add fried chicken piece and capsicum and cook for a couple of minute. Stir in vinegar and serve hot and garnished with chopped spring onion greens.
